Shawn is the older brother to one sister, and an uncle of two beautiful nieces who live with the majority of his family in Montana.  He grew up as a military child and lived in California until he was 14, not too far from Vista.  Shawn is married to an amazing woman, Susan, whom he met during his undergraduate education.  Susan has her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University.

Shawn has a great passion for the Divine Service, and the parables of Jesus.  He enjoys any time he can at the beach, and the many activities offered here in Southern California.  Shawn just received his motorcycle endorsement and has a beard. 

Shawn received his undergraduate degree from Simpson College in Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in both Religion and Philosophy.  He completed Clinical Pastoral Education at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana this past May (2011), and is scheduled to complete the Master of Divinity program at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne in May of 2013.  He has worked with Bethesda Lutheran Communities in the religious life department while at the Seminary.
